Aren Shawl Pattern

The Aren shawl was designed back in 2022, when kopi susu gula aren was very popular. It offers a relaxed and easy start from the top center of the shawl, with a stockinette crescent shape body and a very engaging lace-cable edging, which is knitted sideways, seamlessly. Wear it with your casual outfit or over a dress; it adds lightness, simplicity, and a feminine accessory.

Difficulty: Intermediate.

SIZES

S (M, L)
The sample is in size M.

MATERIALS

YARN
One skein of Papiput Silky Merino. 50% merino, 50% silk. 765 y / 3.5 oz [700 m / 100 g]. Sample knitted in the Aren colorway.
Yarn substitute: Silk Road Lace (100% AAA grade mulberry silk, 500 meters per 100-gram skein. Lace weight).

NEEDLES
Suggested needle size: One pair of US-5 [3.75mm] circular needles in 32” [80cm] or longer.

NOTIONS
One cable needle.
Stitch marker(s).
One tapestry needle.

GAUGE
Approximately 22 sts x 32 rows over 4” [10 cm] in stockinette, relaxed, after blocking.

Create a gauge swatch before starting the project to ensure the best-fitting measurements. If necessary, change the size of your needles to obtain the correct gauge.
