CroKnitBar VI: Bandung Welcomes the Yarn Community with Warmth and Creativity
On Saturday, 9 August 2025, Papiput brought the spirit of togetherness and creativity to All Gud Cafe in Bandung for CroKnitBar VI. This was our first time hosting the event outside of Jakarta, and the response was truly heartwarming — 31 participants joined us, far exceeding our initial expectations.
The Papiput team — Amelia, Novi, and Zidane (our newest member and a college student full of fresh energy) — drove all the way from Jakarta, the car packed with yarns and equipment not only for CroKnitBar but also for the Yarn Dyeing Workshop the following day.
A Gathering of Crocheters and Knitters Across Cities
What made this CroKnitBar so special was the diversity of its participants. The room was filled with crocheters and knitters from Bandung, but also from other cities like Jakarta and Karawang. Some were seasoned crafters who proudly brought their handmade pieces, while others were complete beginners who learned their very first stitches on the spot.
Thanks to our wonderful partners, Bola-Bola Benang and Splendore — two beloved local craft stores in Bandung — newcomers could join mini-classes in crochet and knitting. It was inspiring to see how quickly they picked up the hooks and needles, guided by patient and passionate mentors.
A Celebration of Community, Creativity, and Yarn
CroKnitBar VI wasn’t just about crafting — it was about celebrating the community and the artistry of hand-dyed yarns. The atmosphere was buzzing with laughter, stories, and the joy of connecting with old friends while welcoming new ones into the circle.
Two highlights stood out as the most anticipated activities:
- The FO (Finished Object) Show: A mini runway for crafters to proudly display and strut their handmade items. From intricate shawls to cozy sweaters, the creativity was endless and inspiring.
- Giveaways: Generous gifts from Papiput and Bola-Bola Benang added extra excitement, with participants cheering as lucky winners received yarn goodies to fuel their next projects.
Bandung, You Stole Our Hearts
CroKnitBar VI in Bandung was more than just an event — it was a milestone for Papiput. To see the yarn community come together with such warmth and enthusiasm reminds us why we keep doing this. Bandung, with your open arms and creative spirit, you truly stole our hearts.
And this was just the beginning — the next day, we dived into colors with our Yarn Dyeing Workshop, but that’s a story for another post.
